"Kesher Bar Mitzvah" is a study project of the yeshiva, designed to providea quality and experiential solution for preparation for a bar mitzvah and to constitute a significant process for the boy and his family. For a period of about three months until the Bar Mitzvah event, the boy will go on a fascinating journey of experiential and unique acquaintance with the beautiful content of Judaism. The personal and friendly connection created between the guide the boy and his family overturns the barriers and fears. The connection also bridges the different worlds and creates in the boy an openness and a desire to know the world of Judaism.
Boys say that the experience of the bar mitzvah event and the preparation process changed their view of Israeli society and their Jewish identity and established in them a desire to learn and get to know their own heritage. There are boys and parents who continue to study and meet with the guide even after the bar mitzvah event.
The study program includes several study units with the guide: Familiarity with the cantilation of the Torah and learning to read the Torah, the world of the Bible - what are the commandments and stories of the Bible, the Jewish bookcase - acquaintance with the ancient literature of the Jewish people for generations, a Journey From Avraham Avinu to the establishment of the state, the Jewish holidays and the Hebrew calendar, what is a prayer, and an experiential and fascinating instruction on the production of tefillin.
